Valerie Diaz has been in the workforce since she was 14 years old. While she has practical experience in college and career counseling, especially with immigrant communities, she is also the go-to person within her network for advice on career moves, generating extra income, and taking the leap to go out
on their own.
Valerie has been training and facilitating for over 15 years. She genuinely enjoys getting to know
people’s motivation, helping them articulate their goals, and coaching them to discover their own next best steps.
Valerie believes that there is opportunity around every corner. No question is without an answer – you just have to figure out who to ask. She is excited to be part of BuildEd because she believes that finding economic stability and independence is a universal right, no matter where someone comes from. She embraces BuildEd’s mission, and holds students’ ability to clearly identify their goals and concrete actions steps as the highest measure of success.
